Sorry its been so long

I can't believe I haven't posted since 7th Feb! I don't know where the time has gone. I haven't even been commenting on your blogs, even though I've been enjoying reading them as usual. So please accept my apologies.

Its not that I've been doing anything too exciting, but I finally got one of my 12 unfinished tops basted and quilted. Yes, 12! I clearly enjoy piecing more than anything else.

I had this top finished last feb - yes a whole year ago! For some reason I decided to do really heavy quilting, even though I hadn't done any FMQ for some time. It went ok, but it was so time consuming. It took about 7 or 8 hours to quilt!

The back is just one big piece, but even so I had so much trouble getting it basted without creases, so in the end I got fed up and just accepted it was going to have a few.

I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, if my Mum doesn't want it I may give it to charity.

On the weight loss front - well it hasn't really happened. It took me weeks to get over the flu and get my strength back so I stopped exercising and I've only lost 1 pound. Ah well, its still 7 pounds overall.

Oink Oink

Well, I'm not 100% sure if I should be oinking - based on the NHS website, I have all the symptoms of the dreaded swine flu, but then again it could just be any of the 1000s of other flu bugs out there as well.

Whichever one it is, I'm feeling very sorry for myself. It arrived of friday and seems to be getting worse not better.

I was able to get a bit of sewing done yesterday to distract myself but today I have barely got up from my bed.

What is most disappointing is that I take a magic potion to stop this sort of thing happening to me. I moved to London at 2 and the pollution didn't agree with me. I started off with whooping cough and for most of my life I was prone to getting anything and everything doing the rounds and they always ended up as chest infections. About 7 years ago I started taking Aloe Vera and it boosted my immune system so much that since then I've only had a couple of days with a cold - until now! I guess I thought it was invincible and that the flu wouldn't effect me.

How wrong I was.
