I finally got some bigger pics of the sandown quilt. I call it this because I made it with the intention of showing it this year.
I've got a couple of weeks to get the application form in and I want to wash the quilt first to make sure nothing goes wrong i.e. colour bleed. It also has some marks that got made during the quilting so I need to try and get them out.
When I laid it across my mums sofa in landscape I realised how much I preferred it to the way I designed it in portrait.
When I pieced it I started with strips 2.5 inches wide to give you an idea of the scale.
Even if something goes wrong in the wash and I choose not to enter it in the show, I am still delighted with how this came out.

Finish a long - Q2
Well as I only just squeezed one finish into the last quarter, I am going to repeat the same list by editing the post.
I have one further addition as during my scrappy-trip-along addiction I managed to make not one but two tops.
This is the second which needs quilting.
The first one was the Not so Scrappy Tripalong: I have the top all pieced now.
The 9 patch group project: I have said much about this, but I have a bunch of handsewn 9 patches made a a craft meeting by various members, some who have never held a needle before. I need to do something with them to turn them into a top and quilt.
I made this FMQ sampler last year and still don't know what to do with it. Ideas? The best I have is a cushion.
Fragments top: This is what I do with all my teeny tiny scraps. I'm close to a quilt size now.
Loving the love top: I've been a bit scared at the size of this top for quilting.
Timber top: I've never finished this off either!
AMH top: I made this once without any planning. I don't think it will be hard to quilt, but I've never got around to finishing it.
EPP quilt: This is a WIP and I don't know when it will finish.

Girl on a swing: Get her finished into something, eg a cushion.

Q1 FAL
In my original post http://shevvylondon.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/finish-long-q1.html I showed all my outstanding tops in an attempt to get focused.
Foolish I know. I managed to get sucked into the scrappy-trip-along craze and added not one but two new tops to the UFO pile. Then work and life got very busy and sewing went on the back burner.
I finished quilting this top about 6 weeks ago but needed this final push to get the binding on. Its basically a Free Motion Quilting sampler with a few pops of feature fabric.
I wanted to play and doodle with my quilting and practise new designs as well as ones I am already comfortable with. I really really enjoyed making it.
I didn't do any marking apart from using straight line quilting to create bands to work the designs in. Again, that might be clearer when I get better photos.
The flower in the feathers in the last picture is my favourite bit.
